Message from the Manager
On Tuesday we move into the final game of the season against Esh Winning, in what has been a difficult season.
Prior to Christmas the club was in no position to carry on and the thought of completing the season seemed like an impossible task. The goal was to complete the season and we have not only completed the season but shown that we are able to compete against some of the leagues best teams.
We were the woodwork away from taking points off league champions Blyth Town and play off hopefuls Horden, as well as coming close to taking points from Yarm & Eaglescliffe, Esh Winning, CLS Utd, CLS Town to name but a few. All sandwiched between a victory against Washington.
I would like to thank the local community for their support, we’ve had well over 1,000 fans come to support us this year, which is fantastic.
The players deserve great credit, on the pitch they have given everything in difficult circumstances and I would like to thank them for that. Also the players who played their part and left for other opportunities, your efforts are greatly appreciated too.
I would also like to thank Michael and Stephen who have assisted me in the last four months. Their support has been invaluable.
The committee and volunteers also deserve praise, they have worked tirelessly and managed to turn the club around. The support they have shown me and the players has been much appreciated.
And finally, we look forward to next season.
We are now in a much better situation off the field and will go into pre season with much optimism, with the aim of being a very competitive team ..,. whichever league we find ourselves in.
Cheers
Paul
